It is a strong patriotic symbol with purposefully unchanged design for many years. By recreating the image in perforated white porcelain, I aim to present the embroidery as beautiful design, without the tationalistic overtones of the Bunad. The textile element is then reintroduced into the clay by weaving threads through the ceramic patchwork. This creates a kontrast between the static and the dynamic, showning how tradition can be changed whist still respecting the original context. This piece of work is about experiencing light. My wish has been to create a ceramic piece that relates to daylight, and which changes along with it. In the process I have worked with different ways of bringing out the transparency of the material. Porcelain is experienced differently with and without daylight. It changes in relation to the time of day and the temperature of the light.
